Job Description
The Marketing Manager position manages, supervises, and coordinates the Convention Center’s marketing department and Complex wide branding, which includes marketing, brand management, communications, public relations, community engagement, advertising purchasing, and budget management. The role also oversees social media and website management and creates and implements marketing strategies to increase venue awareness.

The Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Center (RCPAC) has an amazing team of people who operate four unique venues – Raleigh Convention Center, Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts, Red Hat Amphitheater, and Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, create, implement, and manage marketing and communication strategies for the Convention Center and The Complex.
- Collaborates with the director of sales on fiscal year sales and marketing plan and budgets.
- Provide development oversight of marketing operations procedures.
- Manage the design and updating of all print and digital documents to support sales and operations teams.
- Plan and implement sponsorship opportunities, client gifting programs, and client event/engagement initiatives as needed.
- Research the local community to identify partnerships for client gifts that highlight the destination.
- Develop, write, and share press releases, media alerts, talking points, and story pitches.
- Write industry award submissions for individuals and venues.
- Implement a digital marketing communication plan for the convention center.
- Create and maintain digital content for multiple platforms including website, social media, and email communications.
- Manage photo and video libraries.
- Determining editorial changes, layout, graphics and/or video for communications and advertising.
- Collaborating with consultants to refine creative concepts for multimedia campaigns.
- Write project scopes for marketing and communications projects, manage the RFP/RFQ process, and work with vendors to deliver work within contract terms and budget.
- Supervise a team and delegate workflow and projects.
- Analyzes data; develop and present related recommendations; prepare and deliver reports and presentations.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business administration and one year of related experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Venue or hospitality experience.
