Nexxt Spine LLC, a leader in the medical device industry, is seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer. Position Summary:
Reporting to President & CEO, the COO will be a critical member of the executive management team and a primary influencer of the strategy within Nexxt Spine. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes. The COO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, procedures, and people in place to effectively grow the company and to ensure operating efficiency. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive change, foster innovation, and enhance overall performance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide visible leadership for all areas of the operation including manufacturing products within needed metrics (on time, on budget, within quality standards), supporting new product introduction, meeting customer requirements, fulfilling required turnaround times, meeting inventory targets, and enacting productivity projects that continually improve the production capabilities and cost structure of the business.
- Implementing business strategies, plans, and procedures, setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data, establish objectives, metrics and key performance indicators, implement continuous improvement.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the company’s vision, mission and objectives.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower and resources available to achieve maximum output. Promote improvements in productivity. Address and solve problems related to equipment, materials, supplies, and systems.
- Collaborate closely with all areas of the organization drive enterprise goals and objectives and ensure alignment between manufacturing, engineering and sales.
- Solve company-wide pain points, challenges & identify areas of opportunity
- Provide mentorship and foster leadership development of the team; coach, develop, and promote direct reports and team members.
- Manage the organization’s compliance with applicable health and safety laws, regulations and standards and other government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or finance.
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Management role, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
- Proven track record of driving best practices, improving productivity and profitability throughout operations with leading-edge management practices.
- Prior experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management (Quality Assurance/Control) and similar productivity and preventative maintenance tools and methodologies preferred.
- A track record of success in managing, mentoring, coaching and directing employees; experience in developing staff and promoting growth within the organization. Experience building and scaling teams.
- Passion for excellence with a bias for action.
- Proven strategic planning and budgeting experience.
- Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting quarterly and annual goals.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
