Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Therapeutic Aide to work with students in a local school.

What are the duties and responsibilities?
Assist Students With Activities Of Daily Living
- Help students with personal hygiene tasks, including toileting, grooming, and dressing.
- Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
Provide Physical And Emotional Support
- Assist students with physical disabilities in moving around the school, classrooms, and other facilities.
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to students facing challenges.
Implement Individualized Care Plans
- Follow individual care plans developed in collaboration with teachers, school nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure that the unique needs of each student are met.
Support In The Classroom
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to facilitate students” participation in classroom activities.
- Assist with instructional materials and adaptive equipment as required.
Communication
- Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding students” progress and any concerns.
- Attend meetings with the educational team to discuss and update care plans.
Promote Independence
- Encourage and empower students to develop and maintain independence in daily activities whenever possible.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What are the required qualifications?
- High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
- Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.
