With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.
This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 240 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About The Role
The team is expanding and is looking to recruit a Logistics Officer whose responsibilities will be critical in helping the business run smoothly during its next phase of growth. The position will report primarily to the Logistics Manager.
Responsibilities, Duties And Expectations
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and Logistic companies coordinating local and international shipments
- Preparing dispatch paperwork
- Supporting a busy schedule of international demonstrations and events
- Ensuring shipping control processes are followed and improved over time
- Maintaining the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Working across internal production, sales and engineering teams to ensure project deadlines are met
- Tracking stock movements internally and externally
Qualifications, Experience And Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Approximately 1-5 years of work experience
- Knowledge of export controls such as ITAR, EAR, and DEC is preferred
- Experience with an ERP system is highly desirable
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders and customers/ distributors
- Understanding of import and export duties, INCOTerms, and dangerous and controlled goods shipping
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a geographically distributed team
- Strong ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle pressure
- Clear communication (both verbal and written)
- Creative lateral thinker
