Join a dynamic team to develop and execute innovative multi-channel campaigns that enhance our brand visibility, engage our audience of professionals and consumers interested in geopolitics, and critically, converts and retains paying subscribers.
What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with Product, Editorial, Creative, and Customer Support teams to align marketing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Develop and execute lifecycle marketing campaigns over email, utilizing marketing automation tools to acquire, engage and retain customers.
- Develop customer segmentation and targeting strategies to personalize marketing efforts, helping users build repeatable habits and become more engaged with our product.
- Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Define, drive and measure KPIs for each campaign. Conduct A/B testing to continuously improve campaign effectiveness. Provide post-campaign analysis — drawing on successes and failures, in order to identify tactics that are delivering on business goals.
- Collaborate with the brand and creative teams to develop compelling and relevant messaging and ads.
- Collaborate with agency partners to run paid marketing campaigns on a variety of search and social channels.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify trends, behaviors, and opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Conduct customer research (surveys, user interviews) to develop personas, use cases, and product updates.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our strategies are cutting-edge.
- Collaborate with sales partners to ensure marketing and sales are working in lock-step to generate a pipeline for group subscription sales.
- Demonstrate self-sufficiency and independence, taking ownership of projects and initiatives, and acting decisively to drive results.
- Drive continued innovation and improvement by recommending new marketing strategies to expand our reach, increase relevance, refine our segmentation and targeting, and engage and convert prospects.
- Champion a subscriber-centric culture.
Who You Are:
- 1-2 years minimum in digital, growth/lifecycle marketing, or a related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude.
- The ability to work across multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with multiple cross-functional stakeholders is essential.
- A strong sense of marketing to consumers (on more than one channel).
- Experience with A/B testing and campaign optimization.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, resulting in exceptional positioning, messaging, and storytelling.
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to write in a compelling way.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Ability to be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment.
- Passion for politics/international relations is a plus.
- Understanding of the recurring revenue business model is a plus.
The compensation range for this role is $55,000 – $70,000

Working at Foreign Policy
We have a preference for candidates in the D.C. area. D.C.-based staff are required to work from the office at least one day a month, with all U.S.-based staff convening in D.C. a few times a year.
