Clever is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of International Markets to lead the global expansion of our business. This leadership role will be responsible for driving revenue and network growth, ensuring the successful adoption of Clever’s platform, and meeting business targets in key global markets. The Director of International Markets will develop and iterate on our growth strategy, tailor go-to-market approaches for key markets, and build and manage a high-performing sales team. This position requires a seasoned sales and business leader with deep experience in international markets and education technology.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Develop and implement Clever’s international expansion strategy, prioritizing growth in key markets and aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of sales professionals to drive adoption of Clever’s platform worldwide.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with educational institutions, government bodies, and key stakeholders to accelerate market entry and growth.
  • Create tailored go-to-market strategies for each region, addressing local market needs and aligning product offerings with local educational standards and requirements in partnership with Marketing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Success and Services teams on go-to-market and service delivery.
  • Monitor international market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes to inform and adjust strategies as needed. Analyze market signals to identify additional strategic markets to pursue.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that international sales efforts are aligned with Clever’s overall strategic goals, fostering integration between global and domestic operations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Sales Leadership: 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling international businesses.
  • Edtech Experience: Expertise in education technology with a strong understanding of global education systems and market dynamics.
  • Business Leadership: 5+ years of experience in business leadership, consulting, or operations. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, focusing on delivering results in international markets.
  • People Leadership: You have strong leadership and management abilities, with experience building and developing high-performing cross-functional, global teams. You have experience navigating the complexities of different cultural and regulatory environments.

Self-starter: You have a strong sense of ownership and are able to set direction and execute without being told what to do every step of the way. You love building things from the ground up, and have a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Business Leadership and Communication: You are able to translate business priorities into clear strategies to guide cross-functional teams’ efforts. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Travel: Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% of the time.
