Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled drop crew technicians to join our team. This role is responsible for identifying and locating underground utilities, operating trenching and boring equipment, and installing service cables while ensuring job site restoration. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret work drawings, and excellent communication skills. This position requires physical endurance, a valid driver’s license, and the flexibility to work overtime, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify located utilities to prevent damage.
• Locate unmarked utilities and customer-owned equipment (e.g., dog fences, irrigation systems).
• Restore job sites to their original condition after work completion.
• Interpret work drawings and instructions, completing necessary paperwork.
• Review all requested and existing services with customers before installing new drops.
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.
• Use handheld units for retrieving and clearing job tasks.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure responsibility for any damages incurred during work.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:?

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Completion of background and MVR checks required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:?

• Ability to walk over ½ mile while operating a drop plow for cable installation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed.
