Job Summary:

Ensure ordering, receiving and distribution of supplies for Hospital while maintaining professional relationships with department, vendors and customers.

Essential Functions

  • Assure inventory of supplies is available to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Anticipate needs for routine and special order items.
  • Assist internal customers in “shopping” for necessary services, supplies, and capital equipment needs in most cost effective and efficient ways possible.
  • Develop a budget and operate department in compliance with budget.
  • Assist in purchase decisions and coordinate major plans such as furniture and other equipment.

  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Work Experience – Three to five years experience in materials management with some supervisory, hospital setting preferred.

ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
