Objective
Manage and oversee all customs matters within the company, ensuring efficient and lawful handling of all cross-border goods flows. This individual must possess a deep understanding of customs and foreign trade law to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize international logistics operations.
Main Responsibilities And Tasks
- Conduct inspections of export goods
- Verify documents for both import and export transactions
- Support the management of order processing for imports and exports
- Serve as the point of contact and provide guidance during customs inspections
- Determine customs master data in consultation with the headquarters in Switzerland
- Assist in ensuring the proper customs clearance of imported goods
- Verify tariff classifications (customs tariff numbers) and duties
- Act as a liaison with authorities (chamber of commerce, tax office, tax agency)
- Collaborate with shipping and transportation companies
- Oversee warehouse management (including proper storage in customs warehouses and bonded warehouses)
- Have extensive knowledge of the requirements for authorized economic operators
- Ensure compliance with customs permits and legal requirements
- Properly manage and monitor the AES P1 computer system (equivalent to EU-ATLAS)
- Ensure traceable filing of export and import documents
- Stay informed at all times about updates and changes related to EU legislation (eco taxes, plastic tax, dual-use, etc.)
- Verify trade preferences
- Export control, compliance according to EU guidelines (screenings, ICP, etc.)
- Perform other tasks assigned by the area manager
Requisitos
Educational Background: Vocational Training in Foreign Trade or a University Degree. Specific training in Foreign Trade or International Logistics will be valued.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a specialist in Logistics or International Trade is required.
Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge of export and import controls and conducting process audits. Proficiency in AES P1, MS-Office, and SAP.
Languages: English at B2/C1 level.
