Job Description

We are seeking a driven orthotic/prosthetic Technician to join our patient care team. As a technician, you will fabricate, design, repair, and maintain orthotic and prosthetic devices. The ideal candidate is familiar with material properties, skilled in the use of appropriate equipment, enjoys working with their hands, and has a strong attention to detail.

Duties And Responsibilities

Fabricate and repair prostheses and orthoses according to patient measurements, casts and in compliance with a physician’s prescription.

  • Utilize proper hand tools to perform fabrication and repair of orthotic or prosthetic devices.
  • Execute ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
  • Coordinate with vendors to order orthotic fabrication materials.
  • Oversee inventory of items used during the fabrication process.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work and patient environment by following regulations and compliance set by federal and local government, Medicare, ABC, and OSHA.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools for orthotic or prosthetic fabrication in a safe and effective method.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and technical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues with orthotic or prosthetics design or functionality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and willing to collaborate in a team-based environment and contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Associate degree in prosthetics and orthotics or related field preferred.
