This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 240 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.

Responsibilities, Duties And Expectations

  • Work with a team of systems engineers within the embedded product space to introduce products, features and capabilities to current and next generation products adhering to the systems engineering framework.
  • Manage the documentation for system design, requirements and test strategies, specifically focusing on integration testing to ensure that subsystems work together to meet the overall system needs.
  • Conduct engineering investigation and analysis to ensure continual improvement of the products and take ownership over bugs and technical issues, coordinating solutions with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of designers, developers and engineers to continuously improve the product by acting as the voice of the customer within the development teams.

Qualifications, Experience And Skills

  • BS or Masters degree in relevant engineering discipline (Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science), or similar technical field of study.
  • Understanding of foundational systems engineering frameworks and principles across the product development lifecycle.
  • Willingness to embrace uncertainty and be empowered to take ownership of your work
  • Interest in Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, RF sensing, Sensor Fusion and distributed systems.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving through projects and/or hobbies is desirable.
