Job Description
Job Function: Collaborate with and support the directors on educational projects, resources, and programs. Serve as the department’s communications liaison, implementing communication efforts with relevant staff. Play a leading role in national-level work aimed at advancing and educating the membership in fostering a sense of belonging and well-being.
Job Responsibilities  Â
- Communicate with and guide the membership and other key constituents through the development of relationships and educational and best practices resources.
- Contribute in meaningful ways to the creation, facilitation, and assessment of educational modules, workshops, resources, and programming related to fostering environments of respect and belonging that are informed by research and best practices, as well as successfully deliver this content in a variety of settings.
- Work with the director to create and implement a communications plan that includes sharing various office-related initiatives with key internal and external stakeholders working alongside NCAA communications staff.
- Collaborate and support the directors to develop programming and manage logistical on-site management for key department programs and initiatives associated with the department’s mission.
- Assist the primary liaisons in actions/initiatives related to the association-wide committee(s) that the department supports.
- Lead the department’s social media campaign efforts working alongside the post-graduate intern.
- Manage the timely and substantive updating of the department’s webpage to ensure that membership needs are being served as well as possible.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Two to four years of professional experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of the Association’s structure and function.
- Advanced writing skills and interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels and with a variety of external partners.
- Demonstrate an ability to work with and understand individuals of all backgrounds, especially with internal and external members and partners.
- Understanding of social impact through sports’ landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in serving as communications liaison or supporting department’s communications efforts.
- Demonstrated experience in the creation, organization and implementation of high impact programs, workshops and/or resources.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Estimated Travel Required: <20%
- This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
