Analyst, Investment Banking

Regius Capital Limited is part of a diverse Group with business offerings covering financial services, agribusiness and healthcare, and revenues exceeding N200 billion in 2023, including two entities rated investment grade by GCR Ratings. In furtherance of its long-term growth strategy, the Group is in the process of establishing an Africa-focused investment banking business and seeks to engage an experienced associate to support the overall objectives of developing a world financial advisory and capital markets business.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Carry out research and analysis of financial information and keep up to date with market trends to generate sector or company specific insights.
• Identify potential transactions for capital raising, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions through research.
• Develop financial models.
• Develop proposals and pitch documents for transactions.
• Prepare relevant transaction documentation such as information memos, prospectuses, etc.
• Keep up to date with company/transaction requirements of regulatory bodies especially Securities & Exchange Commission, FMDQ Private markets, Nigerian Exchange etc.
• Liaise with above listed regulatory agencies as required.
• Begin to develop relationships with owners of capital such as local pension funds, asset managers, etc.

Requirements

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

• Experience in executing investment banking transactions (covering various types).
• Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent Project Management skills.
• Financial modelling skills.
• Must have a good knowledge of regulatory requirements of the Nigerian regulatory authorities (SEC, NGX, FMDQ)

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field from a reputable university.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACS, CFA, CAIA would also be beneficial.
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduation experience in investment banking or finance related role.
