Job Description
Supaguard is an Australian owned company and has established itself as a leader in fencing materials and products. The manufacturing and office of Supaguard is strategically located in Smithfield within the centre of all major arterial roads. To support its expanding business operations, the company requires a dedicated in-house IT specialist to ensure smooth IT operations, minimise downtime, and enhance cybersecurity.
They are now seeking to employ a full-time ICT Support Technician to join their growing business.
The Role
As the ICT Support Technician at Supaguard Fencing, you will be the sole in-house IT professional, responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, networks, software applications, and security systems across multiple business locations. Your role will be essential in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of IT operations that support the company’s manufacturing, sales, accounting, and administrative functions.
This is a full time role at an annual salary set at $74,000 to $84,000 plus superannuation and will be based in Smithfield, NSW.
The Responsibilities
Some Tasks May Include
Assess and recommend appropriate software and hardware solutions to support Supaguard Fencing’s business operations in a Windows OS environment.
Assessing employee roles and recommending appropriate hardware specifications for optimal performance. Ensures devices are capable of handling large-scale order processing and warehouse documentation needs.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and update Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word) used for business communications and workflow management.
Support and troubleshoot Unleashed (CRM) and Xero (accounting software) to ensure uninterrupted sales and financial operations.
Provide technical support via phone, email, and in person to employees across multiple locations, assisting with issues related to computers, business applications, networking, and peripherals.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and telephones, ensuring minimal downtime.
Implement, configure, and maintain wired and wireless networks across all business locations.
Ensure secure, stable, and high-speed connectivity for operations.
Manage and troubleshoot routers, 4G and fiber modems, WiFi networks, and firewalls to prevent and minimise downtime and connectivity issues.
Administer and maintain VPN and remote access solutions, allowing employees and management to securely access internal systems.
Ensure telephony systems (iPECS) are fully functional and optimised for internal and external communications.
Manage and maintain our cloud servers to ensure business applications are optimised, secure, and accessible.
Implement firewall protection, endpoint security, and access control policies to safeguard company data and IT infrastructure.
Conduct regular system security updates, vulnerability assessments, and patch management to protect against cyber threats.
Ensure business-critical data is backed up and protected, implementing disaster recovery plans to prevent data loss.
Conduct IT training sessions for employees, helping them effectively use company systems, software applications, and cybersecurity protocols.
Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including troubleshooting guides, best practices, and technical manuals for internal use.
Track, maintain, and manage IT assets, ensuring all hardware and software are up to date and meet business requirements.
Work with vendors and suppliers to procure IT equipment, software licences, and infrastructure upgrades as needed.
Implement cost-effective technology solutions that support business growth and efficiency.
The Requirements
Relevant professional university qualification in an ICT related degree
At least 2 years of professional experience in a commercial capacity
At least 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration in a Windows OS environment, and network management.
At least 2 years of experience in Microsoft applications, cloud hosting, and business software (Unleashed, Xero).
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with telephony systems (iPECS), networking hardware, and troubleshooting IT peripherals.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong aptitude for working through technical challenges independently
Ability to analyse IT problems, determine solutions, and implement fixes efficiently.
Excellent communication skills for user support and technical troubleshooting.
