Job Purpose (Significance Of The Role & Objectives)
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary objective is to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety in operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining high-quality standards. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient functioning of production lines to meet customer demands. Essential skills include expertise in tool design and fabrication methods, along with proficiency in project management, commitment to quality assurance, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities And Deliverables
- Lead process design and implementation for new products, conducting validation and approval processes, and ensuring process capabilities through Cp/Cpk runs.
- Participate in cross-functional team (CFT) activities for New Product Introduction (NPI), reviewing phase-wise activity matrices, and confirming manufacturing readiness.
- Establish safe production environments and set up machines for optimal performance.
- Conduct capacity planning, line balancing, time studies, and cycle time analyses to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Drive improvements in productivity and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop new jigs and fixtures to enhance production efficiency.
- Manage workflow for production projects, ensuring efficiency throughout the process.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure products meet specified standards.
- Analyze production data to optimize efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Strategically layout equipment and material flow to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with performance and safety requirements for both workers and equipment.
- Proactively identify and address operational challenges, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance, while delegating tasks effectively.
Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering.
- 04 – 08 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing roles.
- Proficiency in factory and layout planning, as well as validation processes.
- Strong experience in both automated and manual assembly lines.
- Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Familiarity with quality metrics, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, QMS, and 8D methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Technical proficiency in manufacturing-related tools such as technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant industry software.
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering would be a plus.
