Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee shipments from Asia to our U.S. facilities, working alongside carriers and internal teams to guarantee prompt communication and delivery.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and ocean carriers to maintain up-to-date shipment statuses for internal reporting purposes.
- Obtain freight quotes and perform capacity analyses ahead of shipments to mitigate potential delays.
- Manage all inbound ocean, air, LCL, and parcel shipments in coordination with international and supply chain teams.
- Review freight invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with quoted rates and additional charges.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction in freight expenditures through support in Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and trend analysis.
- Formulate and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) applicable to carriers, trucking companies, 3PLs, and internal personnel.
- Engage in weekly discussions regarding transportation strategies, process enhancements, and business operations.
- Remain well-informed about industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements.
- Provide assistance to other teams, such as the North American Logistics Manager, Outbound, Compliance, and Analytics, as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Proficient in the use of ERP and TMS systems (experience with Oracle EBS is advantageous).
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative team player with quick decision-making abilities and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in international shipping, including ocean, LCL, air, and parcel transportation, with a solid understanding of pricing structures, freight terms, and 3PL handling.
