Job Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Procurement Manager to join our team, playing a pivotal role in advancing the clean energy transition. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while providing opportunities to collaborate in our New York City or Toronto offices on a part-time basis for those nearby.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance our Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Services strategy, utilizing your extensive knowledge of market trends and dynamics.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on economic, industry, and supply conditions to ensure a dependable supply of essential equipment for both current and prospective initiatives.
- Identify, qualify, and nurture key strategic partnerships critical for successful solar project development.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive databases of preferred services vendors across diverse markets.
- Oversee the development of bid packages in collaboration with Engineering, Development, and Project Management teams.
- Implement innovative strategies to harmonize cost efficiency with quality, including partnership vetting and project aggregation.
- Negotiate service agreements in close cooperation with Legal and Management teams, leading to finalized contracts ready for execution.
- Foster robust collaborative relationships across the organization.
- Advocate for the establishment of best practices in procurement and supply chain management throughout the company.
- Identify and execute strategies to meet overall company targets.
- Analyze procurement processes and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to team development by identifying potential new hires and skillsets within the Procurement division.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical capabilities, including data analysis and market evaluation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record in building and sustaining productive supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in risk and contract management.
- Solid financial skills, including budgeting and cost analysis.
- Experience in orchestrating and managing procurement projects.
- Familiarity with procurement software and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of the renewable sector’s EPC services market, installation strategies, and contract structures.
- Professional certification such as CPSM is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
