Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead our South East Asia (SEA) sales team for the IMI Industrial Automation Sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of sales and commercial exposure, with a proven track record of strategic sales growth and strong customer relationships. This role requires extensive travel across the region and the ability to lead multi-cultural teams effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base in South East Asia
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive growth and stay ahead of the competition
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management and making data-driven decisions to optimize sales efforts
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
- Experience in the industrial automation sector, with a strong network of contacts in the industry
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales, with a focus on the South East Asia markets
- Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the industrial automation sector
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
- Knowledge of the latest market trends and technological advancements in industrial automation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Willing to travel when required.
