The Role
This key role combines the design of network solutions and policies with effective communication skills. From design documentation to workflow and policy, we are looking for an active team player with an ear for listening and a knack for communicating technical concepts internally and to our customers.? ? ??
This key position involves input through the full cycle of network engineering, from design, customer engagement and delivery, to the operation and analysis of our national networks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and participate in active network discussions and solutions.
- Create quality network design documentation and draft network processes, procedures and policies.
- Engage customers, service delivery and design teams, translating workflows into measurable business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain automations to resolve alerts and incidents.
- Review and operate monitoring and alerting systems, identifying gaps to increase visibility and improve operations.
- Perform root cause analysis on complex network problems, interacting with vendors towards resolution.
- Perform incremental day-to-day provisioning changes and failure testing to validate service stability.?
- Participate in on-call rotation supporting the network.

Your Experience
You have broad technical experience with a proven track record as a Network Engineer, with extensive knowledge of:
- Routing, switching, security technologies and effective troubleshooting methods at all layers of the OSI and TCP/IP models, such as copper and fibre cabling standards, VLANs, VXLAN, MAC address tracing, ARP, LAGs, MTU issues, MPLS, IGMP, 802.11 Wi-Fi, BGP, OSPF, IPv6, IPVPNs/VRFs, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, VRRP/HSRP, PIM, firewall troubleshooting, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, VoIP/SIP.
- Familiarity with “network and infrastructure as code” toolsets, such as source control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and configuration management platforms (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Hands-on experience supporting repeatable, reliable, and scalable network architectures including fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, high availability and disaster recovery.
- Analytical and troubleshooting experience in enterprise or service provider networks, public cloud networking & security (Azure/AWS/GCP), IoT/OT networking, software-defined networking (e.g., SD-WAN), demonstrating task prioritisation to solve complex network challenges.
- Experience in coding or scripting in at least one language, such as Python, PowerShell, or a Linux shell.
- Industry leading certifications preferred, such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCP, etc.
- and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields. This requirement can be substituted with demonstrated equal experience.
