Key Responsibilities

• Tailor and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of students in a virtual environment.
• Develop, assess, and revise individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations, collaborating with fellow educators for effective implementation.
• Partner with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure optimal support for all learners.
• Maintain comprehensive records of student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
• Conduct virtual consultations with students, guardians, and colleagues to provide updates, discuss academic goals, and strategize for student success.
• Offer guidance and resources to parents and guardians to enhance the learning experience at home.
• Engage in continuous professional development through training sessions, team meetings, and other opportunities aimed at enhancing teaching methodologies.

Required Skills

• Mastery of online teaching platforms and educational technology tools.
• Exceptional communication abilities to effectively connect with students and their families.
• Proven experience in creating, executing, and monitoring IEPs.
• Strong organizational capabilities and adeptness in prioritizing tasks.
• Competence in working independently while fostering collaboration within a remote team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
• Active South Carolina teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in a classroom setting.
