Insinger seeks a dynamic, engaging, creative, and innovative individual to lead and manage its R&D efforts.
This skilled individual would be involved in the design and development of new products as well as enhancements to the existing product line. The full-time, on-site position involves hands-on work in a fun, fast-paced work environment at the company’s headquarters in Philadelphia. (The position is not remote or hybrid, sorry.)
The Director of Engineering will be responsible for engineering management, team leadership, software development, project management, and integration on a day-to-day basis.
Duties
- Design and develop new warewashing products
- Redesign and value engineer existing products
- Assist manufacturing engineers in the development and implementation of new procedures, processes, and practices
- Oversight and management of regulatory agency relationships (NSF, UL, Intertek, EPA Energy Star)
- Product safety and sanitation compliance
- New component sourcing and implementation
- Cost analysis, BOMs, project management, technical documentation, and drafting support materials
- Design automation and controls systems
- Apply engineering theory and principles to product designs and manufacturing systems
- Solve design problems in a timely manner within project scope(s) and budget parameters
- Build functioning and non-functioning prototypes to illustrate and test concepts
- Monitor and implement changing industry trends, technologies, and regulations
- Create industry-leading warewashing solutions to drive growth
- Work with existing and new clientele to develop unique cleaning solutions
- Provide impactful leadership and foster a fun, free-thinking culture
Qualifications
- Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills
- Software Development and Project Management experience
- Integration expertise (outside vendor products and software)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mech, Elect, Robotic, etc.)
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
- Proficient in the use of CAD and modeling software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Revit, etc.)
