Job Description
The Sports Workforce Officer plays an important role in developing a range of different opportunities for students to engage in volunteering, leadership roles, skill development and employment during their time at Leeds.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the Sport and Physical Activity service’s large and varied volunteering programme which includes opportunities for students on campus, in the local community and internationally. We also offer students pathways into employment with the service as coaches, activators and interns.
Key areas of responsibility will include the planning and implementation of our volunteering programmes, delivering student training, developing new projects and pathways, and gathering the data and evidence to demonstrate the impact of these on student experience and development. You will also support the recruitment & deployment of students in paid roles within the service including activators, interns and sports coaches for our out of school sports camps.
You will have experience of co-ordinating volunteer placement opportunities, with an understanding of coach education and training programmes in a higher education setting. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise work accordingly.
This post is full time. You may be required to work some evenings and weekends during term time as well as school holidays, so some flexibility will be required.
