About You:
We are looking for a Customer Success Manager (CSM) with a proven track record in the background screening industry (e.g., Checkr, Vetty, Sterling, HireRight, First Advantage, etc.) and direct experience working with consumer data, compliance, and risk management. This role requires deep expertise in managing enterprise customer relationships, navigating complex compliance requirements, and ensuring client success in a highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring seamless onboarding, ongoing support, and strategic guidance to maximize their success.
- Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of consumer data regulations, compliance standards, and background screening processes to provide value-driven insights to clients.
- Retention & Growth: Develop long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high retention rates and identifying expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with compliance, legal, product, and sales teams to ensure customer needs align with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Risk & Compliance Navigation: Guide customers through industry-specific compliance challenges, including FCRA, EEOC, and data privacy laws.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience in Background Screening: Prior experience working for a background check, screening, or related company.
- Expertise in Consumer Data & Compliance: Strong understanding of FCRA, data privacy laws, identity verification, and risk management in a consumer data-driven environment.
- Customer Success / Account Management Experience: 3-5+ years in a CSM, Account Manager, or Customer Relationship role within the background screening or consumer data industry.
- Problem-Solving & Client Advocacy: Ability to proactively resolve customer issues, drive adoption, and advocate for client needs internally.
- Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Management: Experience working with enterprise clients, legal teams, and compliance officers.
- SaaS & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and customer success tools.
Nice to Have Skills:
? Experience with API integrations, data analytics, or fraud prevention solutions.
? Background in trust & safety, fintech, HR tech, or regulatory tech.
