Position Overview: The Controller will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This role involves managing a team to ensure the accurate and timely closing of month-end financials, while closely monitoring the company’s finances.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management:

- Oversee the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the management team, highlighting financial performance, trends, and areas of concern.
- Team Leadership:

- Manage and lead the finance team, allocating resources and responsibilities effectively to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment within the team through training and development opportunities.
- Monitoring Finances:

- Continuously monitor financial performance and provide insights on variances against budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and raise concerns regarding financial discrepancies or risks to the COO.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Prepare financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the management team.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:

- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve cash flow management.
- Compliance and Controls:

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining robust internal controls.
- Participate in audits and implement recommendations as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role, preferably within the manufacturing or steel fabrication industries.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
