Valmet is expanding the existing operations in Pune. Performance Parts Business Unit, part of Services Business Line, is establishing Global Production Unit operations as part of this expansion. Performance Parts Global Production Units manufacture Fiber & Paper process parts and Spare & Energy spare parts to our customers to secure high quality of our products, fast lead times and on time deliveries. We also develop our products in cooperation with our Technology Units to meet our customer needs.
We are looking for a Production Engineer to support our Performance Parts business initiatives at our manufacturing facility located at Markal, Pune. Your main responsibility is to ensure smooth production operation during shift. Supervise and monitor day-to-day production particularly CNC machine operations in the parts shop. Responsible for scheduling shifts to ensure production targets are met. This includes workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations. Liaise with quality control to ensure products meet quality regulations and standards. Adjust as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Monitor and control usage of consumables for machine tools. Program the CNC Lathes and Mills to meet production requirements. Reject products outside of specifications. Ensure a clean and safe work area in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of production workers. Conduct toolbox talks for Safety, Quality topics. Participate in Lean programs to improve process and productivity.
You report directly to local PER BU Production head.
Who is the professional we are looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have.
A Diploma with 7 to 9 years’ experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 7 years in a related engineering field (example Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering). Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and strong working knowledge of production, namely in machining of carbon steel, high carbon steel and stainless-steel metallurgy components. Ability to read engineering drawings, clear concepts of surface finishes and GD&T. Program CNC lathes and mills to achieve the dimensions as per drawings. Exposure to different controllers like Siemens, Fanuc, Hass, Mitsubishi etc. Exposure to fabrication and welding in carbon steel and stainless steek would be an added advantage.Computer literate and understands production tools, systems, and documentation such as bills of material and working in an ERP environment such as Encompix / LN Infor etc. Needs to have the ability to achieve results in cooperation with multiple different stakeholders, a systematic and analytical way of working.
In addition, you have motivation and ability to achieve results under pressure with strong sense of responsibility and independence. You have effective written and oral communication skills in English with presentation and negotiation skills.
