Job Summary
At The Family Conservancy, finances ensure the success of our Programs and Mission. We’re looking for
a qualified accounting assistant to help keep our finances and budgets on track with unwavering
accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a natural passion for analysis and knowledge of financial
transactions within the organization. The Accounting Assistant will assist with the preparation financial
records including invoices and reports to track the organization’s financial grant activities. Reporting to
the Director of Finance, the accounting assistant will play an important support role, clarifying the
financial outlook of our agency with precise, proactive measures.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepares monthly grant invoices and reports.
- Manages grant records, communicates information, and insights for Staff Accountants.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and provides information for the close the monthly books.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable or grant drawdowns, and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Works with Staff Accountants to create grant budgets.
- Assists with filing grant reports with federal, state, and local government agencies, and other grantors.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
- Continue professional education by participating in webinars, workshops, and networking events
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least one year of related experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Nonprofit experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of working at a desk and working on a computer.
