Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team. This role involves organized documentation, coordination, planning, and ensuring smooth project communications from start to completion. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with various teams across the company, including estimating, project managers, general foremen, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Create jobs in Procore.
- Prepare and distribute job sheets.
- Request and disseminate shipping schedules.
- Track and procure materials.
- Apply for and purchase permits.
- Schedule inspections.
- Order blueprints.
- Assemble project handoff packets.
- Process job closeouts.
- Update budgets and prepare presentations for meetings.
- Maintain organized filing systems.
- Manage employee information within Procore.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings.
- Fulfill Certificates of Insurance (COI) requests.
- Assist Project Managers as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced time management and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to multitask and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Requirements
- Proficiency with or ability to learn Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite (must be very tech-savvy).
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents, construction blueprints, project specifications, and requirements.
- Experience in professional technical writing.
- Verifiable 2 years of experience as an Assistant Electrical Project Manager with an established commercial electrical contractor, OR
- Associate’s degree in construction management AND a minimum of 3 years in the electrical trade as a commercial field wireman.
