Job Description

Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner

Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations

Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive

Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures

Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures

Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, fairly and safely, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act

Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using the standard report-writing program

Conduct periodic patrols of property either by foot or by vehicle.

Investigate incidents and occurrences

Draft detailed incident and occurrence reports

Maintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property

Monitor CCTV surveillance systems

De-escalate emergency / crisis situations

Access control, line management, customer service

Assist with daily operations as needed/required or directed.

Respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner

Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance

Work closely with vulnerable populations

Monitor for and escalate security concerns within the Emergency Department

Assist in developing security plans for high-risk patients

Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts

Oversee and support patient watch guards within the Emergency Department

Ensure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Emergency Department

A Valid Ontario Security Guard License

Valid First aid and CPR Level C

Covid double vaccination ( for healthcare sites only)

Immunization Record for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test ( only for Healthcare sites)

Proficient in English (both oral and written)

Vulnerable Sector Check

Customer Service Experience Would Be Preferred

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 25 lbs)

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
