Pay Rate: $58,204 – $105,535
Technical Editor
Responsibilities
- Edits technical reports, conference papers, administrative documents, and specifications with supervision.
- Edits marketing materials with supervision in concert with the Marketing group, Director/Managers, and Communications Director.
- Strong knowledge of company templates.
- Participates in Technical Training Team, coordinating presentation of technical trainings on published conference papers and other industry publications.
- Updates company templates and Style and Usage Guide/Manual; stays apprised of QA/QC requirements for editors.
- Manages deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Provides input for estimates for time on technical papers and reports.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years editing experience, preferably in the A&E industry
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Member of a professional organization (e.g., STC) – encouraged
- Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills
- Skilled with Microsoft Word; good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software
- Good presentation and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style
- Competent professional with good knowledge of most areas of editing (formatting proofreading, copy editing, content editing)
- Exercises good judgment in managing time
- Begins to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy
