Job Summary
As a Data Scientist I, you will join a dynamic team leveraging data to drive business decisions. Your responsibilities will include understanding business projects, querying and analyzing data, executing and evaluating A/B tests, and communicating insights. You will also support machine learning and automated intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and Apply Best Practices: Acquire knowledge in data science and business best practices.
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Extract data from our data warehouse, conduct exploratory data analyses, work with the reporting team to create automated dashboards, and communicate insights effectively.
- A/B Testing: Set up, execute, and analyze A/B tests, and interpret results based on guidance from Data Science leadership.
- Pipeline Ownership: Manage data processing, analytic, and ML pipelines, ensuring data quality and reliable execution.
- Collaboration and Communication: Contribute to a positive work environment with a constructive attitude and effective communication with data colleagues and other departments.
Qualifications
Must Have Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Fluent in SQL and Python (or R with a willingness to learn Python).
- Data Handling: Comfortable with pandas (or equivalent in R) and sklearn.
- Visualization Tools: Familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau.
- Statistical Analysis: Understanding of A/B testing and statistical methods.
- Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, hard-working, receptive to feedback, and a willingness to learn from mistakes.
Nice To Have Qualifications
- Version Control: Experience with GIT.
- Code Quality: Experience writing modular, production-ready code.
- Big Data Tools: Familiarity with Databricks and PySpark.
- GIS Experience: Knowledge of GIS, especially the ArcGIS Python API.
Education And Experience
- Degree: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
- Experience: No prior work experience required; 0-3 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
This role is a fully remote position. Physical Demands
This position operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The role requires regular talking, hearing, sitting, standing, and walking. Some tasks may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
Compensation Range
$75,000 – $95,000 base salary, based on experience and expertise.
