Essential Duties And Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
As our Accounting Clerk II, you’ll be responsible for a variety of essential financial tasks, including:
- Processing and reconciling invoices with purchase orders.
- Reviewing, keying, and reconciling accounts payable data.
- Handling credit card purchases, monthly statements, and billing discrepancies.
- Completing payroll for inmate workers.
- Coordinating fiscal year-end reporting and assisting with budget preparation.
- Managing petty cash disbursements and reconciliations.
- Assisting customers in-person, over the phone, and via email.
- Preparing reports, spreadsheets, and documentation for audits, grants, and compliance needs.
- Reviewing and approving telephone service orders and resolving related issues.
You’ll also help maintain office efficiency by organizing files, ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines, and supporting various financial and administrative projects.
Job Specifications And Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
We need someone who brings a mix of expertise, professionalism, and enthusiasm to the role. Key qualifications include:
- Education/Experience: An associate’s degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, or Business) and 3-5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in financial recordkeeping, problem-solving, and using modern office software such as spreadsheets and accounting systems.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting practices, office procedures, and procurement regulations.
Additionally, you should excel at building effective relationships, paying attention to detail, and adapting to new challenges.
