CMP Consulting Group (CMP) a well-respected water engineering consultancy has been proudly steered by its founding members for over 20 years and recently joined the broader Vysarn group, one of Australia’s leading water and infrastructure service providers.

We seek a General Manager of CMP to lead this highly successful business to grow and thrive. This is an attractive senior leadership role for an aspirational leader in the water services industry. You will be supported by the shared services team of the broader Vysarn group, Senior Executive, the Board, and importantly, the enthusiastic and highly capable team of engineers and professionals at CMP and across the Vysarn group. The General Manager will have the ability to expand CMP’s current service offering up and down the East Coast of Australia and into the West Coast, as well as play a big role in helping to grow Vysarn’s integrated water and infrastructure services into the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business strategy, service delivery, and operational efficiency to position CMP as a leader in the water industry.
• Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and technology to enhance performance and create new growth opportunities.
• Lead financial strategy, budgeting, and commercial decision-making to optimise profitability and long-term sustainability.
• Identify and execute opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisation.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders to drive growth and market presence.
• Represent CMP in industry forums and regulatory discussions, positioning the company as a thought leader.

About You

We are looking for an inspiring and strategic leader with:

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
• Extensive leadership experience in engineering consulting or a related sector, with a proven track record of operational and financial success.
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
• A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, driving high-quality service delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
• A deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the industry.
