$40-$50 per hour + Super

We are partnering with a professional organisation who are looking for a paralegal to join their team for a holiday cover period. You will be supporting the Director and department solicitors in all inquiries.

This is a temporary contract from 24th February to 20th March so you must be free for those dates. The role will be fully office based and the offices are in the Sydney CBD.

Responsibilities and duties

Legal Information Service

  • To provide legal information to members contacting the Information Service via telephone or Common information requests and inquiries.
  • To work with the Solicitor and Director, to facilitate the development of frequently asked questions documentation for the various areas of common inquiry.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

  • Provide detailed and accurate information to callers about the various programs administered by the organisation
  • Consider and review the relevant legal documentation provided by an applicant in order to identify the relevant ADR Clause, any pending court dates and any other relevant matters.
  • Request outstanding documentation/information as required. Use this information to determine the nature of the dispute and the skills and experience required by any appointed practitioner.
  • Discuss the matter with the proposed practitioner in order to describe the dispute accurately including the relevant ADR clause or order and answer any of their
  • Prepare accurate documentation for Presidential Appointments and Presidential
  • Assist in the bi-annual Expression of Interest process for practitioners to be on various ADR Panels.

Qualifications And Relevant Experience Required

  • Completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
  • Minimum of one year of continuous legal experience working as a paralegal
  • Demonstrated legal research
  • Current working knowledge of property law (in particular, conveyancing) and wills and estates highly desirable.
