*Lab Assistant Tech- Microbiology *

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our busy Regional Microbiology team as a *Lab Assistant Tech*. This position plays a vital role in supporting our laboratory’s mission to provide accurate and timely diagnostic testing for our patients.
*Responsibilities*
- Will process Micro samples of all specimen types onto appropriate media.
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Collect, process, and label patient samples according to established protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures, including plating, streaking, and inoculation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory activities.
- Assist with the preparation of reagents and media.
- Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist the Clinical Lab Scientist and Medical Lab Techs as needed
*Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One (1) year laboratory clerical and/or phlebotomy experience in an acute care facility required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, and autoclaves.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
- Phlebotomy training must meet the needs of newborns through the geriatric population
- California Phlebotomy Technician License (CT Phlebotomy) preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (AHA BLS) required.
- Fire Safety Card (CT Fire Card) required. (must obtain 90 days from hire date)

$23.00 – $25.97 / hour
