Economist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on Hong Kong, Mainland China, or other major advanced economies
• Prepare reports and briefing materials on macroeconomic and financial market developments
• Participate in policy analysis and discussion

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in macroeconomics or finance or data science
• At least 3 years of solid experience in conducting in-depth empirical research or data science at central banks, statistical agencies, universities / international organisations
• Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g. R or Python) an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent command of both English and Chinese, with good drafting and presentation skills

Assistant Manager (Data Science)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in data science research on granular and alternative data for risk monitoring and surveillance
• Automate data dashboard, database management and model deployment
• Maintain the daily operation of an internal web portal

Requirements

• University degree in data science, economics, statistics or related fields
• Experience in data science, data analytics and / or automation, as well as in analysing economic and financial market data a definite advantage
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL and Tableau
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• A good team player with ability to work with others to achieve the objectives
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
