Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Sr. Assistant Director of Admissions at Eastern Kentucky University will play a key leadership role in the recruitment and enrollment of prospective undergraduate students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Recruitment, this position will oversee the admissions counseling team, ensuring cohesive strategies for recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a diverse and qualified student body. The Sr. Assistant Director will also engage in strategic planning, manage a designated recruitment territory, and represent EKU in a variety of recruitment settings. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are required to excel in this role.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s preferred.
Experience: Minimum three years of related work experience is required.
Previous experience as an Admissions Counselor or progressive leadership experience in Admissions is preferred.
Licensure & Certifications: Valid state driver’s license is required.

Job Duties:
- 35% – Team Leadership & Support – Supervise, mentor, and support admissions counselors. Assist with hiring, training, and professional development to ensure alignment with EKU’s enrollment goals. – (Essential)
- 30% – Recruitment Strategy & Outreach – Develop and execute recruitment strategies for assigned territories, including travel and virtual engagement. Represent EKU at various events, counsel prospective students and families, and provide exceptional service to all stakeholders. – (Essential)
- 20% – Event Coordination – Lead and participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, including Open Houses, Spotlight Days, regional receptions, and community engagement programs. – (Essential)
- 15% – Data Analysis & CRM Management – Analyze recruitment data and trends to refine strategies. Utilize EKU’s CRM system (Slate) to track prospective students and enhance engagement efforts. – (Essential)
- 5% – Special Projects & Initiatives – Contribute to projects that support EKU’s overall mission and enrollment objectives. – (Essential)
