The College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Associate Dean for Access, Belonging, and Community Engagement (ABC). This dynamic role is central to our commitment to creating an enriching and supportive space for students, faculty, and staff.

As the Associate Dean, you will lead the charge in developing evidence-based initiatives that promote diversity and belonging, enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups, and create a comprehensive strategic plan aligned with our mission. Your leadership will shape inclusive pedagogies and the College’s diversity initiatives, making a tangible impact on the future of nursing. This is a 50% administrative appointment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for access, belonging, and community engagement.
• Lead inclusive excellence programs that support underrepresented students, faculty, and staff.
• Oversee the CON Program for Academic Support Services (PASS program) and work closely with university leadership on diversity efforts.
• Serve as a key member of the Dean’s senior leadership team.

Recruitment for this position is in the Tenure Track or Professional Track.

Required Education And Experience

• Holds an earned doctorate in nursing or related field.
• Minimum of a Master’s in nursing.
• Eligible for unencumbered nursing licensure in South Carolina.
• Has a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered or advanced practice nurse.
• Experience implementing and evaluating inclusive excellence initiatives within an academic setting.
• Meets rank for Associate Professor or Professor for either Tenure Track or Professional Track.
• Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and collaboration are highly anticipated characteristics of the Associate Dean of Access Belonging and Community Engagement (ABC).
