Who We Are Looking For

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for administrative HR functions within the Company, including background checks, onboarding new hires, maintaining HR records, providing support to team members with HR related questions and concerns, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The position requires the candidate to be highly organized and efficient. They should have a keen eye for detail and knack for creative problem-solving. He/she must have strong internal motivation and must be comfortable juggling multiple tasks. The HR Specialist must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that requires an ability to adapt to shifting priorities, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence.

This role also provides administrative support to the human resources function with regard to record keeping, file maintenance, and Human Resources Information Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Background Checks – Conducts background checks for new-hire candidates. Responsible for assisting the SR HR Specialist with the semi-annual background process.
  • On-Boarding – Coordinates and communicates with new hires along with gathering necessary new hire paperwork. Responsible for sending welcome emails, instructions, and reminders to new team members. Electronically storing new hire information. Review and work closely with SR HR Specialist to add new-hire information to the Human Resources Information System.
  • General HR Helpdesk Support – Respond to team member inquiries regarding the HRIS, I9, and other general HR questions. Coordinate and assist SR HR Specialist with the more complex inquiries.
  • Process Change PANs (Personnel Action Notices) (Including Transfers and Terminations) – Assist SR HR Specialist in entering new hires/terms in HR System. Assist SR HR Specialist with maintaining and updating team members’ information in the Human Resource System. Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Assist with maintaining, preparing, and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Reports – Running reports in UKG and reviewing Time Off information.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors’ Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 year of experience working in Human Resources or related corporate environment entering and maintaining data in a system.
  • Minimum 2 year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with HRIS System (ex. UKG/ADP)
