Job Description
This position is responsible for performing a variety of data processing and human resources administrative functions for assigned areas to include keying Personnel Administration (PA) actions for DMH such as New Hire actions, Salary Increases, and EPMS in SCEIS in a timely and efficient manner. Performs professional work in the administration of human resources programs within SCEIS Operations. Contributes to quality assurance and other significant HRS class/comp/employment processes.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Upon receipt of action packets, reviews and accurately enters data in an efficient and timely manner in order to meet deadlines pursuant to State regulations. Attention to detail is critical and will minimize/avoid the need for corrections which may create an exposure for the agency as relates to classification and compensation. Acts as a subject matter expert on PA (this may include QA) processing and provides technical assistance to HR representatives as well as provides notices/reminders when data is missing or inaccurate in action packets.
- Shares responsibility for the HRprocessing e-mail portal, for incoming actions and requests to include printing and distributing packets to appropriate staff.
- Maintains organized filing system (electronic and/or hard copy) for documents received and in various stages of being processed.
- Works on special initiatives or projects as requested or directed.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and administrative experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

The selected candidate must have knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management, knowledge of policies and procedures of the program area of assignment and of agency policies and procedures. Needs the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, make and communicate decisions, analyze data and present ideas effectively and communicate effectively. Attention to detail is critical and will minimize/avoid the need for corrections which may create an exposure for the agency as relates to classification and compensation. May require occasional overtime. Must be able to work on a computer for an extended period of time.
