Education/Certification

Requirements for Cyber Security Analysts:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, such as: CISSPO, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH

Experience

  • 2-3 years Job experience in a cybersecurity role, with hands on experience in security monitoring and incident response
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, encryption, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security technologies
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS controls)
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm)
  • Knowledge of cloud security, including security practices for platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with Incident response procedures, forensics, and malware analysis

Monday through Friday: 8am to 5pm

Pay: $80,000 to $100,000

Cyber Security Analysts duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor network traffic, systems, and endpoints to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and risk analysis to identify weaknesses and develop remediation strategies
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, analyze logs, conduct forensics and report on findings
  • Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security configurations and best practices are followed across systems, applications and networks
  • Conduct security awareness trainings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS
