Queensland based university seeking Audio Visual Consultant

A renowned professional services organisation have partnered with a leading Queensland based university who are seeking an Audio Visual Consultant. Tasked with reviewing the organisations enterprise level solutions (to ensure they’re fit for purpose), this role will see you work remote (with occasional site visits if needed) throughout the duration of the contract.

Your new role

Established many years ago, this organisation has deep ties to multiple communities throughout Queensland not only due to their educational offerings, but it’s community engagements. Not limited to just these (and the many employment opportunities the organisation brings), the significant research conducted at their many sites aim to change the lives of people for the better.

Currently undergoing a digital uplift, this organisation is conducting a technical revamp (cutting edge smart boards, TV’s, sound systems, projectors, etc) of 500 spaces (classrooms, meeting rooms, etc) across their multiple sites. With an AV specialised consultancy contracted to design and architect the solutions to be rolled out, this organisation is now seeking an independent Audio Visual Consultant to assist them.

Reporting into the Head of Digital Infrastructure, you will conduct impartial reviews of the consultancy’s technical plans, AV architecture, road maps, technologies etc and provide honest feedback to the organisation. Seeking documentational outcomes, you will be tasked with creating technical reports, drafting technological schematics, summaries, appraisals, evaluations and overviews for the organisation to review such that an informed technical decision can be made. Alongside this, you will also be charged with updating their technical guidelines in line with the association of Educational Technology Managers (AETM) as well upskilling those in the internal AV Team.

To be successful in this role you will have needed to come from an extensive Audio-Visual focused background and alongside having worked within the higher education/university domain. Not limited to just hands on experience with various AV systems, you with need an understanding of these solutions from an enterprise level perspective and their use across an organisation.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

You will need as much experience/knowledge across the following as possible:

  • AV solutions, technologies and systems
  • Creating AV Schematics
  • Hands on technical experience
  • Working within an enterprise level environment
  • University domain experience
  • Association of Educational Technology Managers (AETM) standards/processes
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Perfect communication skills (written and verbal)
