Scope Of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Early Education Principal, the Pre K-4 teacher will effectively teach from a biblical worldview while managing a classroom and building positive relationships with students and parents.
General Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Effectively manage a classroom.
- Teach curriculum from a biblical worldview and with excellence.
- Create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with the students.
- Provide excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication.
- Be creative, have a strong work ethic, and think “outside the box”.
- Work in a team-centered environment.
- Include biblical integration in all lessons.
- Engage students in inquiry-based activities.
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualified Applicants
- Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
- Have a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Southside Christian School demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Southside Christian School.
- Bachelor’s degree in early education is required.
- All candidates must be willing and able to obtain ACSI certification.
- Must complete 15 hours of DSS credits each year.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to evacuate students in the event of an emergency.
- Ability to sit, bend, and stand, as needed in interactions with students.
- Ability to be actively engaged with students: getting on the floor, dancing, singing, and moving quickly enough to keep up with young children.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
