An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Band6 Sexual Health Advisor (37.5 hours per week) at Barts All East Sexual Health Service.

Working cross site at our clinics in Stratford and Whitechapel, the successful candidate will have responsibility for health promotion and partner notification for STIs, as well as undertaking comprehensive assessments for a variety of client groups including those under 18, Sex Workers, patients who report they have been sexually assaulted, patients who are anxious or in distress, amongst others.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who has direct experience of face to face working with vulnerable client groups, and holds a relevant professional qualification (public health, social work, youth work, counselling, nursing etc).

The appointed individual will be expected to work in conjunction with clinic hours, which include regular evening work and occasional work on Saturdays.

Health Advisers will work with all patient groups accessing services, but will identify and take a lead with specific patient groups with greater vulnerability or risk of STIs and HIV.

The main focus of this role is on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, unplanned pregnancies, sexual exploitation and indicators associated with poor sexual health and promotion of healthy sexual functioning and relationships; delivered through highly specialised assessment, targeted interventions including: risk reduction, partner notification and extended outreach.
