Job Description
The Renal Dialysis Unit is a purpose built unit with 55 dialysis stations providing chronic haemodialysis and acute treatments including haemodiafiltration and plasma exchange. This is a rewarding role working closely with patients to ensure they obtain optimal care in the haemodialysis setting.
Experience is not essential as all staff are well supported. However you must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach within the working environment and a willingness to develop.
The Unit operates Monday to Saturday from 06:30 till 00:30 and you must be flexible to cover shifts within these hours. The shift times will be Early (6.30am -2.30pm) and Twilights (3.30pm – 11.30pm). Full time posts will be 5 shifts per week. Part time depending on hours advertised.

- Assisting patients and escorting to/from dialysis area to the waiting area/hospital entrance ensuring necessary transport arrangements are made for those requiring hospital transport
- Give out food and drink and appropriate times, and assisting patients with meals
- Liaise with appropriate departments re catering requirements on dialysis unit.
- Assisting the nursing team with patients personal care.
- Assisting with the flow of patients through the unit.
- Working alongside the nursing team to ensure the needs of complex chronic patients are met.
- Taking bloods/ prescriptions to pathology and pharmacy to manage outpatient patient requests.
- General housekeeping and stock keeping.
- Reporting hazards to a senior member of staff to promote the health and safety of patients, the public and staff in the health care environment.
- Equipment and stock assistance
Your reliability in terms of attendance and timekeeping are essential.
