Junior Legal Counsel (Litigation)

Job Summary

The Litigation Lawyer will play a pivotal role in protecting the interest of the client by providing sound legal advice, drafting legal documents for prosecution or defense, representing clients in court, coordinating with other departments and witnesses to get a complete view of the facts of the case, and supervising junior legal staff. This position requires a strong understanding of legal principles, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Research and Preparation:

  • Conduct thorough legal research using various resources, including online databases, books, case law, and other reliable sources.
  • Gather and analyze relevant information from clients, witnesses, and other sources.
  • Prepare comprehensive legal briefs, memos, and other documents.
  • Pore over case files and communicate with other departments of the Filinvest Group, external clients, witnesses, and government officials
  • Ensure that all legal advice and actions are grounded in sound legal principles.

Legal Drafting and Review:

  • Draft and review legal submissions, including pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Ensure the clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness of legal writing.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to junior lawyers on their legal drafting.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, government officials, and witnesses.
  • Build rapport and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients.

Court Representation:

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Prepare for and conduct effective cross-examinations.
  • Advocate for clients’ interests in a professional and ethical manner.

Team Supervision and Development:

  • Oversee the work of paralegals and junior lawyers.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law
  • Registered and licensed Lawyer
  • With at least 1-2 year work experience in a related field
  • Knowledgeable in different laws especially corporate business law and other related laws
  • Competent negotiation skills
  • Has strong Time Management and People Skills
  • Analytical and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
