The Role
An opportunity has arisen for the role of a CIP Technical Manager at ALS in Tile Hill, Coventry.
The CIP Project Manager plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the company’s quality systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. This position involves overseeing technical reviews, approving quality standards, and authorizing critical documentation to support laboratory operations. Additionally, the role contributes to staff development and operational efficiency through training initiatives and participation in site-wide responsibilities.

Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:00)
Contract: Full Time & Fixed Term (16 Months)
The day to day
- Maintain the company’s quality system to ensure compliance with legal, internal, and external audit requirements.
- Conduct technical reviews of non-conforming work (NCW), AQC investigations, method quality control charts, and proficiency testing (PT) performance.
- Approve quality control chart limits and review changes to quality documents, including procedures, methods, and supporting materials.
- Authorize test reports for Chemistry.
- Conduct staff inductions on a rotational basis.
- Participate in the site on-call rota.
The Essentials
- A relevant scientific degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with wastewater organic chemistry methods and applications
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Significant experience required of working with ISO17025/Mcerts
- Significant experience in managing organic chemistry teams
