Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Alignment:

• Develop and implement IT strategies that directly support the organisation’s business objectives.
• Collaborate with senior management to understand business needs and identify technology solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations.

Project Management

• Oversee the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, software implementations, and new technology deployments.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensure successful and timely delivery.
• Communicate project status and escalate any risks or issues to stakeholders.

IT Operations & Infrastructure

• Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and mentoring.
• Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring systems availability, performance, and reliability.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards for security, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Budgeting & Vendor Management

• Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources while controlling costs.
• Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
• Analyse and recommend hardware/software purchases within budget constraints.

Security & Compliance

• Collaborate with security teams to implement and monitor robust security measures to safeguard company data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).

Experience And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record of success.
• Strong understanding of networking, server infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT security.
• Excellent project management skills, with experience managing budgets and timelines.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or vendor-specific certifications).
• Demonstrating professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the company’s mission and values.
• Maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude, fostering effective teamwork.
• Adhering to company guidelines on technology usage, data security, and confidentiality.
