Job Description
As the CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping Squaretalk’s financial strategy, ensuring compliance, optimizing performance, and managing risks. You will work closely with the CEO, board, and investors while leading a high-performing finance team. The ideal candidate is a financial leader with deep expertise in SaaS, international taxation, and compliance, capable of driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies that align with business goals and drive long-term growth.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and board, influencing key business decisions.
- Establish financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to optimize operational efficiency.
Audit & Financial Reporting
- Ensure the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of financial records and reporting.
- Oversee financial statements, balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow reports.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring effective financial planning.
- Conduct variance analysis, scenario modeling, and forecasting to support business agility.
KPI & Performance Analysis
- Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with department heads.
- Use data-driven insights to enhance productivity, profitability, and cost optimization.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Optimize cash flow and liquidity to sustain operational and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Develop a robust risk management framework to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with global tax regulations, international tax policies, and transfer pricing rules.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Provide training and career development opportunities for finance professionals.
Investor Relations
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and presentations for investors and stakeholders.
- Support fundraising efforts by showcasing Squaretalk’s financial growth potential.
Commission Structures & Incentives
- Design and oversee commission and incentive structures for revenue-generating teams.
Requirements
Experience & Education
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles (CFO, VP Finance, Finance Director) with direct responsibility for financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and investor relations.
- 8+ years of experience in financial management, preferably within SaaS, technology, or fintech industries.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CFA are highly desirable.
- Background in Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PwC) is a strong advantage.
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription-based business models, and international taxation.
- Experience with transfer pricing, global tax compliance, and financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, MS Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Zoho Analytics, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong knowledge of ERP and financial software, with a drive for digital transformation.
