ICT Graduates

Location: Wakefield

Start Date: February 2025

Salary: £94 to £115 per day (Depending on Experience)

Contract Type: Day to Day / Long Term, Full Time / Part Time

GSL Education are offering an exciting opportunity for ICT graduates to work as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Wakefield. This role is ideal for those considering a career in teaching, IT education, or educational technology, providing valuable classroom experience while supporting students in their learning journey.

As an ICT Graduate, you’ll be either working as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with students to develop their understanding of ICT and digital skills. As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will oversee pre-planned lessons, ensuring classroom engagement and a positive learning environment. Both positions offer a great foundation for aspiring teachers or professionals interested in working with young people.

Responsibilities Of An ICT Graduate

  • Assist in ICT lessons, helping students develop key technical and digital skills.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who need extra guidance.
  • Supervise and deliver pre-set lessons as a Cover Supervisor.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Support teachers in managing resources and setting up ICT equipment.
  • Adapt to different classroom settings and year groups as required.

Requirements Of An ICT Graduate

  • A recent graduate in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A passion for education and supporting young learners.
  • Strong technical skills and an interest in digital learning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Previous experience working with young people (preferred but not essential).
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
