General Teaching Assistant – KS3 to KS4
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £94 to £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: February 2025
Contract Type: Day to Day / Long Term, Full Time / Part Time

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will be providing essential support to teachers and students, helping with classroom activities, and ensuring a positive learning environment. This is a great opportunity for those considering a career in education or looking to gain valuable school experience.
Responsibilities Of a General Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students in their learning.
- Work with individuals or small groups to provide additional academic support.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
- Support students with different learning needs and abilities.
- Prepare resources and assist with lesson planning when required.
- Encourage student engagement and participation in lessons.
General Teaching Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience working with secondary school students as a General Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
- A passion for education and supporting young learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to different school settings and student needs.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
